SETTLEMENT FOR NEGLIGENT DISCHARGE OF PATIENT. During a caesarean section, the surgeon believed he had punctured an organ. Even though the mother complained of pain throughout the hospitalization, the hospital negligently discharged her. When she was forced to return to the hospital for internal bleeding, she was discovered to have suffered major internal damage and she required a total hysterectomy. While no sum of money could compensate the mother for this loss, she was allowed the only recompense that the system could provide.
